“In the past three years, I’ve driven from coast to coast and met dozens of people who have paid a steep price because of DEI: from a nurse fighting for her career over her private speech in B.C.; to professors fired after witch hunts; to the many teachers I met in my run for public school trustee in 2022…
…even the Toronto District School Board which spent $35 million over three years on the salaries of suspended teachers (while they were being investigated for complaints), an equivalent to 350 full-time positions, is waking up to the problem.
If there is a type of corporate and institutional training we desperately need, it is one to deprogram institutions from this toxic political ideology.”

This time, Boschy said he’s running to roll back board policies on diversity, equity and inclusion that he called “woke,” “activist” and tinged with “radical identity politics.”
He’s running in Zone 10, which includes downtown Ottawa. Asked why he again chose one of Ottawa’s most left-leaning wards on a platform that seems anything but, he signaled that actually getting the job isn’t really his top concern.
“I want to drive a discussion,” he said. “I think the discussion is far more important in the public sphere than whether or not I get elected.”
(I do, by the way, want to be elected. If US Democrat AOC can giggle her way past the toxicities of Woke 1.0 and imply they went too far with defunding the police, I think Ottawa is ready to elect me too!)

“they just have a ridiculous track record of chaos and drama, and they’ve been focused more on chaos and drama for the last four years, than they have on proper governance.”
In June last year, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board was one of four Ontario school boards placed under provincial supervision after Education Minister Paul Calandra cited chronic financial mismanagement.

“Shannon Boschy, a parent advocate and school board trustee candidate in Ottawa’s Zone 10 Somerset, said the school’s explanation raises more questions than it answers.
“To suggest, as the school did, that there’s a lack of curricular alignment is exactly true. There is nothing in the curriculum that says there should be rainbow flags in kindergarten classes or promotion of LGBTQ+ agendas in classrooms at all,” he said.
“There is no curricular alignment with those policies that are held by any school board across the province.”
